And Right Now, Tom Needs to Worry More About Staying Out of the Big House than Staying in the House of Representatives

The forever cautious BuzzFlash, where we always assume that the mainstream press will overlook the daily onslaught of GOP lies and failures; where we believe that the Democratic leadership on the Hill talks tough and then runs and hides; where we believe that the RNC and the White House will do anything to extend their powers, including savaging the Constitution and trashing the nation -- well, this BuzzFlash is taking a few hours to celebrate!
When as treasonous and slimy a rattler as Tom DeLay bites the dust, you just have to stop for a moment and recognize this is the real deal!
During five years of impenetrable betrayal by the Busheviks and RNC, it seemed like the patriotic BuzzFlash community and other progressive Americans were like the protestors in Tiananmen Square. We just kept getting mowed down.
But here is a day that dawns without DeLay (so to speak, although he's not gone yet) -- and suddenly it's spring. We'll have a special jaunty bounce in our stride this morning, how about you?
Okay, he's not resigning just because he thought he might lose (which is an amazing concession on his part, but he's a snake so just discount it). He's leaving Capitol Hill because his top aides have started singing to the Feds about the illegal activities of "Toxic" Tom.
And right now, Tom needs to worry more about staying out of the Big House than staying in the House of Representatives.
But what can we say, except put a smile on your face, howl like a coyote, and then get back to work.
Bush and Cheney won't leave so easily. They'll have to be dragged out in cuffs and orange jumpsuits.
But after a five-year drought, it's nice to feel some cleansing rain.
Tom DeLay is a very big fish to catch, a big fat carp (which bottom feeds on waste in rivers and lakes).
There's no question, this -- like Coke claims -- is the real thing.
Take the pause that refreshes. You deserve it.
You've kept the faith in democracy -- and one of the axis of GOP "exterminators" is about to exit stage right.
We'll drink to that (orange juice; it's too early for anything high octane) -- and then get back to running a news and commentary website.
