When Howard Fineman of Newsweek (see headline below) starts seriously reflecting on the "I" word, you know the concept has come a long way. We were all over the "I" word on BuzzFlash this past week -- and it would only be Constitutional justice to see it happen. The practical challenge, however, is that you would have to impeach Bush and Cheney simultaneously. And then we would be left with Hastert as President! That would keep the White House chef busy, but not change things dramatically. And after Hastert it's that corrupt big oil ANWR at any cost senator from Alaska, if we're following the line of succession right. Okay, let's not mince words. Would you rather have a president who gets a blow job from a pizza delivery girl but leads the nation forward or a president who is screwing the country and is rowing us back to the era of the absolute power of King George? So let's dream of a twin impeachment that ends just as the Democrats take over the House and Senate in 2006! It's not likely because Tom DeLay is still de facto running the House, even if his title has been stripped from him. And Bush has tampered with DeLay's trial by declaring him innocent before the proceedings have even started. So DeLay is linked to the Bush circle of corruption and omerta big time. Ah, but one can dream. The Busheviks haven't taken that right of ours away. Yet. A BUZZFLASH NEWS ANALYSIS
